Hello! I grew up in the small, rural town of Patterson, CA with parents who are only 19 years older than I am, and later attended UC San Diego (UCSD), where I studied Management Science and became the first person in my family to graduate from college. After working at UCSD's John Muir College, I enrolled in the Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy program at New York University (NYU). I then relocated from New York City to Washington, DC and orchestrated the student life experiences at the NYU Washington, DC global academic program before relocating back to California, where I am now the Strategic Communications and Signature Experiences Coordinator at the SJSU Lurie College of Education. Below are several samples of my work - feel free to give them a look.
Outside of my professional role, I love to travel, take photos, exercise, and learn new skills. My spouse, Ashley, and I are also preparing for the arrival of our first child! |
DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS
I designed the SJSU Lurie College of Education Annual Report and curated most of the content included in the report. I also did all of the photography and graphic design work for the Leaders of Lurie College series. Check out both of the publications below!

I have regularly created newsletters to send out to large internal and external audiences using platforms such as Mailchimp, Marketo, and WordPress, and my mass mailings typically have an open rate of anywhere from 50-67%. I have also built up an external mailing list of over 6000 recipients in my current role at SJSU. |
NYU WASHINGTON, DC STUDENT SITE
During the Summer 2016 term, I created this online portal for current and prospective NYU Washington, DC students to access information about recent news, upcoming events, and other helpful resources. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT MATERIALS
FACILITATING FACILITATION WORKSHOP
In January 2018, I was contracted by LearnServe International, which sparks high school students' passion to make a difference and equips them with the knowledge, tools, and relationships to effectively drive local solutions to pressing global challenges, to facilitate a staff professional development workshop on facilitation. |
NYU WASHINGTON, DC INTERSECTIONS ORIENTATION
During the Summer 2015 term, I collaborated with a number of NYU staff to create the NYU Washington, DC Intersections Orientation to create opportunities for students to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others not like them. I then revised the orientation each subsequent term and as a result students increasingly evaluated this aspect of their study away experiences higher than the term before. |
NYU SPROUT SEMINAR
During the Summer 2015 term, I coordinated the implementation of NYU Sprout, a seminar series to support first-year students with their transitions into college each fall semester. I then revised the seminar each year based on observations, feedback, and other priorities to enhance the experience for all participants. |
NYU ALTERNATIVE BREAKS SITE LEADER CURRICULUM
After serving in the Alternative Breaks organizations at UC San Diego and NYU as a Staff Advisor, Site Leader, and Chair of Education, Orientation, and Training, I voluntarily created a Site Leader Curriculum to provide to the NYU Alternative Breaks program. The curriculum was utilized as a resource to train and develop student leaders for several years after I graduated from NYU. |
NYU INTERGROUP DIALOGUE SYLLABUS
During the Spring 2013 semester, I co-facilitated an NYU Undergraduate Intergroup Dialogue course on race. During the course, I co-designed a syllabus that focused on the individual, social, and cultural analysis of race and I co-determined all course, materials, activities, and pedagogical approaches. I also conducted a needs assessment, assessed the quality of students' assignments, and designed an evaluation to measure student learning in the course. |
DINNER FOR 8 STRANGERS PROGRAM OUTLINE
During the Spring 2013 semester, I coordinated a program called Dinner for 8 Strangers to create opportunities for NYU 2nd Street residence hall students to develop their interpersonal skills and develop a stronger sense of community. I created this Program Outline to manage the program internally and share out externally with other residence halls. Several residence halls decided to implement the initiative the following semester after witnessing the positive impact of it in 2nd Street Hall. |
